Started with cartoonish mask doodles and ended up being a torn, untamed psychedelic film.&nbsp;A great track and the rogue, grungy art direction of this ad gave us the fluidity and freedom to add graphics, post- production effects, and doodles to create something psychedelic.&nbsp;The visual can speak for itself.

Lamar, a local beverage brand in Egypt, wanted to introduce their full range. This project was a great playground for us to direct and not just animate the ad. Syncing the motion of the falling leaf with the music, and making a simple ad with no extra “juice” visually interesting.Fun fact: not one real juice pack was used in this film.&nbsp;

The client gave us sports stickers. We brought the magic tricks.We ditched the storyboard and started experimenting, making sure we stayed true to the gritty, colorful energy of the retro panini stickers. Once we got our direction down, we edited them to a solid beat, syncing every frame with the music and a visual identity that worked with CocaCola red. &nbsp;

One of the rare times where we don’t illustrate in-house. For Rexona’s sports-oriented film, we collaborated with Mohamed Mostafa, also known as Picasso, who ranks among one of the top illustrators in the world. To give every mascot its own identity and energy, we focused on animating and editing each one with a different spirit, to capture the motions people do in the sports world.&nbsp;

We pulled out our grungy brushes and added beards onto a few adolescents and a few iconic thunderbolts here subliminally for Zain’s 5G BOLT campaign. Our 2D artists designed the skull character from scratch. Our compositor went nuts on the fish eye and biscuit scene.&nbsp;

An outcome that we led creatively from start to finish. Du, Dubai’s main telecom company and UBER Dubai decided to collaborate to make people’s lives easier. We created a visually stimulating “Hall of Fame” featuring elements of the promotion along with everyday convenience items that people love to use.Our main references were foreign arthouse movies and the Avant Titter style of Almodovár, a Spanish filmmaker we admire.

ADD LIFE TO LIFE

JWT Dubai wanted to create a heartwarming campaign for Nokia that reunited people who have traveled abroad to make a living and miss out on important moments with their families. Our favorite insight that inspired the aesthetic of the video was the retro flashcard that was used in the Philippines as an alternative to watching movies for those who couldn’t afford them.&nbsp; We’re very proud of this film because it made it into JWT’s annual report.&nbsp;

This stunning film, which is very close to our hearts due to its cause, consciously explores the connection between our food and the planet. With our varying animated sequences moving together, we were able to aesthetically enrich an ad that flows beautifully, eventually leading up to the most important spherical “serving” of all-planet Earth. &nbsp;

THE PLATE

Considerably the biggest film festival in the region, we were excited to craft all the film animations for the highly-acclaimed Gouna Film Festival including the logo reveal, moving posters, visuals for performances, and award presentations. Gouna is a beautiful all-year getaway destination that inspired us to use arches that mimicked the sun, moon, tides, and sea waves. Waves are simulated in the breaks and transitions, creating a film-noir-inspired shadow cast in every frame.For the Reda Troupe song, one of Egypt’s most acclaimed dance groups, we created illustrations and kaleidoscopic compositions that reflect the modern take of pure Egyptian music using the visual identity of the film festival. The video loops were cinematically hip indents.

GOUNA FILM FESTIVAL

The creatives back at Wunderman Thompson asked us to create three films that communicated the different features of the Opel Grandland. Using the monologue provided, we created a vision based on the man fantasizing about his new car, giving the film a modern, glossy, and appealing feel.We made sure to place the car in a futuristic garage so it doesn’t look abandoned like a floating vector. We especially like the usage of lights and different color tones in the film. &nbsp;

This CSR campaign for Oriental delights brand had to be delivered eight days before Ramadan, which is the Middle East’s religious Superbowl in the ad world. The challenge was making the calligraphy intriguing, and readable to honor the heritage of the Arabic language.

LAHGET EL KARAM

Using the illustrations of artist Muhammad Mostafa, and being directed by Tariq Ali, we created a music video for one of Egypt’s top rock bands, Cairokee. It was one of the first animated videos with a fresh aesthetic in the region, as most music videos are usually real-footage based.

CELEBRATING CDM UPLIFT

Halva is a sweet confectionery, usually eaten in the Middle East. Halva in bread is the most common food that visitors bring to inmates in Egypt. We brought this insight to life, animating a prisoner who talks about how prison life is depressing but “the food is good”.

A BANK TO TRUST

We had this concept of victorian gone kitch, inspired by René Magritte, The Avalanches/Frontier Psychiatrist video, and still life drawing in art schools in earlier years when we used to collect different elements and place them against a weird velvet structure that looked like ghosts most of the time! We created a CGI scene of both artist standing/setting covered in a velvet blanket, “Casper the friendly ghost look alike.” The elements from each track were placed artistically “a wood log and saw, plants, a pack of crackers ... etc.” lit in a renaissance feeling like the still life composition.

A DAY AT...

We were challenged to develop a whole character out of an already-designed icon that shows a glimpse of a character. All we had were ears! Like no ordinary magician, we pulled it off. The Rabbit jumped quickly to life to resonate the under 10 mins delivery application that can evoke speed, efficiency, and trend! As the mascot creators, we took that personally and made it to the finish line setting a new record.

Listen up, folks. We had a situation on our hands. Our blue friend, who looked like a monkey but claimed to be a space alien creature, needed some serious TLC. And that’s where we came in. Now, some people were skeptical about the whole surgical interference thing. But let me tell you, we knew what we were doing. We weren’t just a bunch of monkeys ourselves. We were determined to give our blue friend the care he deserved. And, man oh man, did we deliver. We fixed him up real good and sent him back into space looking and feeling his best. That’s just how we roll. Now, I hear some rumors floating around that our blue friend ain’t doing so hot these days. Might be the crack, or something. But let me tell ya, when he was under our care, he was the happiest little blue alien monkey you ever did see. We did right by him, and I know we’d do right by any living creature that came our way. That’s just how we do it in ZANAD.

A kick-ass visual and edit based on the new branding of GATES -the real estate developer. Somewhere between the minimalism of the new logo and a zillion data to showcase by the client commands, we managed to survive and come out with this piece in a fun process! A paper-free, tree-loving film, a gift from us to the publishing industry. The script is written to emphasize how the client might not create/write/make books. Still, they handle everything else that’s book related. Our team, with the oversight of the directors were very hands-on during the process, experimenting with sketches, mood boards, art direction, and mixed media to explore the best way to visually communicate the script, a wild journey of coming up with a digital all CGI style that relatable to all the classic readers inspired by letter pressing and grainy craft paper. It’s safe to say we are proud of our child’s bold final aesthetic. Creating an adorable monster representing local hustlers overhanging you while traveling is not for the faint of heart. But we did it! Our monster captures the whole experience of landing in a European country and being overhung by local hustlers for no good reason. We were challenged to create a monster that wasn’t too cute to be featured on TV, and boy, did we nail it! Our monster is adorable and scary at the same time. The film got all the little details that make it even more lovable - from the ambulance siren to the small car coming out of the parking spot. This creation is a hit for both Vodafone and ZANAD. We’re stoked to launch it through various marketing channels and see the monster become an icon. So come on, let’s rock and roll with our adorable monster and show the world what we’re made of!

We had a damn solo gig with no opening acts. It was rough, but we had to shoot gorilla style with Yehya’s (our 2D artist) mobile. And let me tell ya, editing those viral videos was no easy feat. But we did it, and we even wrapped it up with some graphics that over explain how our client is serving everything you’ve seen and witnessed on the internet. We added a freakin’ unicorn popping out of the mobile screen, but even that wasn’t enough! We may have gone a little overboard, but hey, that’s ZANADs way.

In our culture, music is in the core. So when we heard about a cool initiative to create a device that would let deaf people feel the beat, we knew we had to jump in. Our team went all out to make sound frequencies more tangible. We wanted to create something that was not only effective but also had the hip factor of sneaker ads where we mixed 3D animation and motion graphics to show sound frequencies turning into vibrant patterns and shapes. POWER TO THE MOMS

What a strange name for a platform that connects musicians, bands, and venues. But you know what? It fits the purpose perfectly. And not just them, the spectators, the music addicts with a minimum knowledge of the internet - they're all in on it too. It's a beautiful thing, really. But let me tell you, it wasn't easy. A tiny challenge was visualizing all that while maintaining the web design and UI. They wanted it to be as close as any app tutorial or infographics. I mean, come on. Will the jammers look hyped and energetic, or will they just be another generic character from some clip art inventory? We can't have that. Thankfully, the team pulled it off. And now, everyone's ready to jam. So let's do this thing!

I WANT JAM

Hey, rebels! Let me tell you a little story about a job that really hit all the right keys back in 2015. We were working on a new branding for a music channel, and, boy oh boy, did it feel like a dream come true! As a die-hard fans of MTV, this was our chance to shine. We started with the sketching phase, and the client was a music producer known for scouting new talents. Talk about doubling the excitement! We were young and eager to deliver something fresh and cutting-edge. But then, surprise surprise, the guy started getting cold feet. He felt like our vision was too intimidating for the masses in Egypt. He thought we were too advanced for the local taste. Well, you know what I say to that? Rebel yell, baby! We don't back down from a challenge. We don't settle for mediocrity. We push the boundaries and we make things happen. Sure, it's not always easy. Sometimes, you have to fight tooth and nail for your vision. But that's what makes it all the more satisfying when you finally see it come to life. So to all you rebels out there, don't let anyone tell you that your ideas are too big, too bold, or too fresh. Keep pushing, keep fighting, and keep living that rebel lifestyle. Because when you do, you'll make magic happen… even if the client didn't answer your finance call collecting the paychecks. Rock on, rebels!

The whole team has done it again! Produced a full CGI commercial for LAMAR that pays homage to their very first commercial, directed by yours truly ten years ago by incorporating multiple elements from the original 2013 copy in the 2023 commercial. The challenging part was matching the tempo of a fast-paced jingle describing the brand’s daily routine in three sets, all within their beloved farm. Our inspiration mainly came from ceramic tableware and Victorian dollhouse toys to give that clean, fun yet prestigious look and feel. As always, we had to add our easter egg signature: planting our team members' names somewhere there.&nbsp;
